My Love Relationship
I love peanut butter.
It doesn't really matter if it is chunky, smooth or whatever. I love it. I even prefer the unsweetened variety as it tastes more like peanuts. Peanuty goodness.
This sordid affair that Mr. Peanut Butter and I have started back in Africa. I lived on it. I ate it for breakfast on my fresh baked roll (which was more like a baguette) and for lunch, I had it on the rest of my roll and for supper on apples. It was too darn hot to eat much so peanut butter did the trick in tying me over until the next meal.
I got home and was living with my parents. My mom had recently purchased a whole new jar of Kraft Smooth Peanut Butter. I ate the whole jar. In a week. A WEEK! And, surprisingly, I had no ill-effects from that much PB.
Now that I live on my own, I only allow myself peanut butter as a treat. I don't buy it often so I'm not tempted and when I do get it, I get the smallest Kraft container I can, in the unsweetened form. (I usually eat it on apples so the sweetness is balanced, but sometimes I will eat it straight from the jar. I have a problem.) I haven't bought any for 2 months, at least, so I got one yesterday.
I'm spending some quality time with my peanut butter right now.

I opened my jar of peanut butter on Saturday for toast and I was reminded of you. Only my jar is stale but I ate it anyways. Bet yours doesn't get stale.
Finally someone who can sympathize with me. I feel very much the same about peanut butter...I would rather eat that than most anything else on the planet. It is my favorite thing. I am cursed however...(or blessed depending on how you look at it), my dear husband is deathly allergic to nuts. (I would not wish this on anyone)...so...no peanut butter cups, no peanut butter on toast (I'm salavating), no peanut butter on a spoon...no peanut butter for me. Boo. I envy you and your jar of peanut butter.
You are a brave woman for still marrying him Shara! I guess your love goes deeper than nuts.
I can't say I have the same feeling about PB. I wish I could relate.
I am currently eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich on white bread.
I've discovered the unsweetened stuff and I love it. I ended up with all the oil all over my kitchen when I tried to stir it in, but it tastes soooooo good!
Mine doesn't have that much oil. Stop buying the expensive stuff...just stick with Kraft, it has never let me down!
That was the Kraft...with the two bears on the label? Weird. Maybe I just picked a bad jar. Who knew there was this much excitement about peanut butter!
