Playing Catchup

I have been seriously lacking in the blogging department. It isn't that I have nothing to write about but I just can't seem to find the time to sit at my painfully slow computer and type something witty out with it freezing every 3 seconds. I usually just get frustrated and then abandon my desire to blog in favor of something more productive, like watching Big Brother.

Here is a recap of my life

What Happens In Vegas...

I'm sure if I had to, I could make up some gloriously sinful story about all the antics that Carmen and I had in the Sin City. But I'd be lying. We walked and shopped and ate and watched shows and walked some more. Oh...and we got tattoos. That was fun and a bit of a gong show. The highlight would definetly be seeing Celine. Well worth the $80 ticket and after 90 minutes, I didn't want it to be nearly over.

Armpits and ...

I am not a fan of the stampede. Too many people in too small of a place, most of whom smell like they haven't seen Zest in a really long time. I do enjoy the people watching the stampede allows...everything from the wannabee cowboys to the scantily clad bar stars and everything in between. I am glad that pasty white is the new tan because then I fit right in! I am barely into the grounds when I start my complaining about how hot it is, the children running rampant, the teenagers who think they are the coolest...blah, blah, blah. There were 3 highlights of the stampede this year, 1 being Reba, 2 being Bon Jovi and the 3rd, being those indescribable foot massagers. I need me one of those at home.

Shot Through the Heart...

I have to give props to the boy because he secured us 2 tickets to the hottest show during Stampede week. Yup, the completely sold out Bon Jovi concert. The seats weren't bad and the show was fantastic except for the drunk, large man beside me who kept flailing his arms and hitting me in the chest. It was a great show. Richie Sambora is one ugly man but Bon Jovi still looks pretty good. There is something about a rock star....

And Still...

OH MY WORD. Reba's concert has topped my concert list and beleive me, it is a long list. I was super pumped for this show and we even made T shirts. We are geeks, but that's ok. She put on an amazing show and we sang and danced and cried (yes...Jathina!) through her show. She did mostly old stuff which was good since I don't know a lot of her newer hits. She even got a bit teary at a few points during the show and after singing "And Still", the crowd gave her a 5 minute standing ovation. She really had to pull the kleenex out then. And when she came out in her red sparkly dress for "Fancy", the crowd was more than ready. Oh Reba. I heart you.

...For Rent....

I've decided to move. I'm not completly happy about it but I'm hoping that the idea of moving again will begin to grow on me. I have been happily inhabiting a 1 bedroom apartment in a somewhat sketch area of town (near the drop in centre). I will be moving to the NW...to a house...with 3 other ladies. YIKES. What am I thinking? Well, the promise of cheaper rent and a backyard was too much to pass up. Now comes the stress of the pack and the address changes and the adjustment to living with people again. I'm sure I will survive and if I lose my mind (or patience) then I'm sure a stay in Ponoka is fairly affordable!

Well, I think that that mostly catches up the posts that I should have been doing. I am off tomorrow to Chicago for the weekend with 5 very dear friends. We are in our leadership course and are getting to spend some time with the people at Willowcreek Church. I'm very excited! It doesn't hurt that there will be trips to Six Flags, the Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile and possibly some much needed R & R to make it a grand trip.

Maybe I'll post about it when I get home.

Maybe not.
